The table incorporating two matching leaves 22.75" long each. Secessionist period. Vienna, ca. 1910. This table's design relates very closely to a table designed by Joseph Hoffmann, ca. 1912-14, for the Poldihutte offices located at #7 Invalidenstrasse, Vienna.

An Art Deco period dining table executed in sycamore having sabre form legs terminating in brass sabots. Design and execution attributed to Alfred Chambon (1884-1973). Belgium, ca. 1935. Chambon was the youngest of three sons born into a French family that had emigrated to Belgium in 1868. His father, Alban, was an architect and designer. While all three sons were involved with furniture design and manufacture, Alfred was the only one to show at the Universal Exhibition held in Paris in 1925. He was known as the most innovative force in the family, producing his high quality modern designs through his company, Anciens Etablissements Alban Chambon.

An exceptional German, Jugendstil period desk based on a design by Joseph Maria Olbrich and made by Moritz Ballin, cabinetmaker to the Austrian Court. Ca. 1905. (See Ottomeyer and Ziffer, "Mobel des Neoklassizismus", Catalogue of the Furniture Collection of the Munich State Museum, 1993, pages 88-91.)
Executed in mahogany with geometric inlays of rosewood and horn and having two drawers in its superstructure, two tirettes and two doors enclosing shelves and English drawers. Signed on locks.
This desk relates very closely to one Olbrich designed that was shown at the St. Louis World Exhibition of 1904.
